CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS

Michael Jann and Michele Jourdan
of Citronella Stories

and creators of “Bug Therapy,” a seven-minute animated short film about mental health that uses humor to break the ice.

Michael is an Emmy-nominated late-night comedy writer for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon. Michele is Mike’s wife, writing partner, and a gold-medal-winning body builder. Their 27-year-old son Max’s mental breakdown, hospitalization and ongoing recovery fuel their passion to fight the stigma of mental illness.

“Bug Therapy” features an all-star cast including Meghan Trainor, Dr. Phil, Jay Leno, Sterling K. Brown, and Tom Green.

Members of Our Turn to Talk,

a film and podcast project for teens. Courageous young people are putting an end to mental health stigma by telling their own stories—unfiltered—in the documentary film and teen-hosted podcast series Our Turn to Talk. From skyrocketing rates of anxiety and depression to the impacts of racism, social media, and the pandemic, their struggles and triumphs carry a powerful message: Storytelling saves lives.

Inspiring Hope Conference Award Recipients

At this year’s Inspiring Hope Conference, NAMI Delaware presented eight people and organizations with special awards. These awards recognized exceptional leadership and service to people living with mental illness.
