NAMI Basics

Spring 2018, NAMI Basics is offered in New Castle County (Newark) and Sussex County (Georgetown) 
NAMI Basics is a free, six-session program for parents and other caregivers of children and adolescents living with emotional, behavioral, or mental health challenges. The NAMI Basics course is taught by trained parents or caregivers who have "been there."
Topics covered and discussed in the program:

  • Family's emotional reactions to the trauma of mental health disorders.
  • Strategies for handling challenging behaviors in children and adolescents.
  • Personal record keeping systems that are proven to be effective for parents/caregivers.

Participants are asked to make every effort to attend ALL sessions. REGISTRATION REQUIRED - Register online: 
NAMI BASICS in Newark beginning Monday, February 26, 2018. 
NAMI Basics in Georgetown beginning Tuesday, March 6, 2018.
